Puddles in East Jakarta Subside

Puddles that has been inundating some areas in East Jakarta recently began to subside.

Two things that indicated as the cause. They are utility network that is installed transversely and trash blockage in the channel

Head of Maintenance Section, East Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept, Yose Rizal said, from 15 points of puddles last year, this year's puddle only leaves 11 points. It can still be reduced if the normalization of channel and crossing is done.

"Two things that indicated as the cause. They are utility network that is installed transversely and trash blockage in the channel. So that the water cannot flow normally until causing overflowing waters," he explained, Tuesday (2/16).

According to him, those 11 points of puddles are spotted on Jl Cililitan Besar, Jl Letjen Sutoyo, precisely in front of Cawang Kencana building, Jl Perindustrian Kebon Pala, Jl Raya Condet in opposite of PGC and Jl DI Panjaitan-Kalimalang.

Similar condition also seen on Jl Dewi Sartika, Jl DI Panjaitan in front of Patria Park Apartment, Jl DI Panjaitan in front of Kebon Nanas, under Flyover of Jl Dewi Sartika-Cililitan, Jl DI Panjaitan in front of Wika building and at RT 13/05 in front of Al Hawi Condet Mosque.

He added, puddle in front of Al Hawi Mosque is due to utility network. It will be demolished next week to smoothen the water flow in the channel.

Meanwhile, points of puddle began to recede are located in opposite of BNN building, Jl MT Haryono, Jl Penegak Matraman and Halim Perdanakusuma Tunnel.
